|Comrade Rufus Michael Ebiwei,|
Egbema clan Ijaw youth council (IYC) vice cum former acting clan chairman, Comrade Rufus Michael Ebiwei has blast DESOPADEC board, and the security personnel over the alleged Dehumanized treatment given to the Delta state armless protesting students in Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC’ office warri town, Delta state,
In a statement signed by the vice chairman comr. Rufus, which a copy was sent to The EgbemaVoice News, partly reads,
I'm totally disappointed at the management of DESOPADEC and its security for opening trigger on peaceful protesters for demanding for their common bursary payment.
He said, Don't waste your bullets on innocent students, it is shameful.
Those managing Desopadec should also think back at their days in school, what they have done to the students is annoying. I feel leadership failure on the part of the commission.
DESOPADEC bursary survived me during my university days. I was a one time Senate president of National Union of Izon-Ibe Students (NUIS) worldwide ,Novena Chapter President (NUIS). I know how things used to be difficult for students sometimes. If a whole oil commission cannot pay bursary, meaning Okowa has killed the commission.
"Instead of using their office to address the situation on ground rather they are using the security agents to intimidated the students just because they demand for their rights. This is uncalled for, it is shameful and disappointing. I call on the every well-meaning Nigerian to condemn the heinous crime perpetrated by Desopadec and its security operatives.
"It is part of my demands that in immediate effect the students outstanding bursary allowances be paid,"
Comr. Rufus m. Ebiwei vice Chairman Egbema clan (IYC)
