By EgbemaVoice, The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied reports that said Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has emerged as the running mate to the party’s presidential candidste, Atiku Abubakar. The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, made this known in an interview on a live programme of Arise News on Wednesday. EgbemaVoice online News earlier reported that the PDP committee set up to recommend a Vice-presidential candidate for Atiku picked Wike as his running mate. Wike was floored Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta state governor, to emerge as Atiku’s running mate. Wike won by a whopping 16-3 vote and Okowa only got 3 votes. Reacting, many Nigerians expressed fears that Atiku and Wike may fight during meetings. Others described the team as a ‘deadly’ squad that can dismantle APC.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has threatened to query universities that have failed to comply with its decision to remain on strike while negotiations with the Federal Government continue.
