Egbema youth political forum (EGYPF) in Warri North Local Government and Ovia South-West Local Government Areas of Delta and Edo States formally congratulates Hon. Festus Ashima, The Executive Chairman, Warri North Local Govt area, Koko, Delta State while presenting key demands for transparency, accountability, and good governance for the good people of Egbema Kingdom. The forum highlights critical issues affecting Egbema kingdom politically, such as underrepresentation of the Ijaws of Warri North Council, lack of employment opportunities for Egbema youths and social amenities. The demands aim to ensure fair treatment for all ethnic groups, requesting for equal employment, rotational system for elective positions, and a stronger focus on the welfare and inclusion of Egbema Kingdom.
According to the chairman of the Egbema forum Barr. Ebigbagha S. Baidi said, we recognize your leadership and appreciate your attention to our concerns. We felicitate with you and your team on your recent electoral success. We present EGYPF, a peaceful organization dedicated to advancing socio-economic freedom and political empowerment in Egbema Kingdom and seek to partner with your administration to tackle pressing issues, including marginalization, lack of representation, and inadequate resource distribution. We respectfully demand for transparency in employment, rotational leadership, youth appointments, and equitable resource allocation and pledge support for your administration and anticipate a more developed council.
The Council Chairman in response expressed his warm welcome to the forum by way of thanking God for His mercy and acknowledged the confidence in the plans of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the good people of Delta state.
Hon. Ashima further stated that he will take this message particularly that of political offices and leadership issues in Warri North to the stakeholders in the council to see how best they can be fairly addressed.
He expressed concern over the involvement of non-indigenes in many of the civil service jobs in Warri North, attributing it to a lack of willingness from the two dominant ethnic groups in the region, the Ijaws and Itsekiris. He advised both groups to take civil service jobs very seriously.
The chairman concluded by appealing for continued peace within the Local Government Area and commended the forum for their dedication and seriousness. He encouraged close collaboration between the council and the Egbema Youth Political Forum moving forward he added.
