DESOPADEC BOARD EXTENDS LOVE TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES,

The Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, ably led by the Chairman, Olorogun John Nani and the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Chief Festus Ochonogor yesterday 19th December, 2024 graciously put a smile on the faces of the persons living with disabilities in Ijaw mandate area.

The event which took place at the office of the Member representing the Ijaw ethnic nationality on the Board of DESOPADEC, Hon. Spencer Okubo Okpoye saw him presenting a cheque of one million naira (N1,000,000.00) to the leader of the team, Mr. Victor Oniyeburutan on behalf of the Commission.

Presenting the cheque, he described his visitors as special people and as such should be treated specially, stressing that they should see this kind gesture as an extension of the hand and goodwill of the Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to share with them, his heartfelt love towards them and urged them to make judicious use of the money while wishing them the best of yuletide season and beyond.

The leader of the team and also the Coordinator of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, Delta State Chapter, Mr. Victor Oniyeburutan while receiving the cheque from the Member, lauded the noble and exemplary leadership and goodwill of the Commission in ensuring that they have a sense of belonging by bringing succor to them in spite of the harsh economic situation that has positioned many under the crunch of acute poverty, lack and want in our nation. 

Mr. Oniyeburutan while appreciating the Board for remembering them at a time like this and for making the Christmas celebration worthwhile, promised to make good use of the money, adding that they will ensure the money gets to all concerned because they have their sharing formula. 

Highpoint of the occasion was the official presentation of the cheque to the team leader by the Member, ably represented by his Confidential Secretary, Mrs. (Deaconess) Ebikeabore Ari Ogisi.

By EgbemaVoice, There was pandemonium in Abuja after soldiers allegedly following the directives of an army general assaulted development control officials in Sabon Lugbe Area, who were present to dismantle certain illegal structures in the vicinity. According to the Naija News understands that the officials were acting in the order of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike. It was gathered that the officials, on Wednesday, December 18, targeted the fence of a property located on Plot 416, reportedly owned by a Major General.
