Members of the Nigerian Legion in their large number had protested the attack on its personnel to the office of the Chairman Nigerian Legion Lagos State Command under Col Samuel Akande ( rtd) alleging that members of the Nigerian Legion have often times been Maltreated by personnel of The Nigerian Police Force and this had led to the untimely death of most Legion operatives and others suffering high degree of injuries
The latest incident was as a result of little disagreement of not allowing motorcycle to enter the estate an order from residents of the estate where the legion personnel work as a guard. But the order was resisted by the police man who threaten him with his rifle and later shot him in his thigh.
The latest police brutality couple with past experiences have drawn the attention of the Assistant Inspector General Of Police zone 2 AIG Adeyinka Adeleke who has ordered full scale probe into the incident and warmed Police operatives in the zone comprising Lagos and Ogun State to be disciplined in discharge of their duties.
It was not possible to get the reaction of the Zonal PRO SP Hauwa Idris Adamu on the shooting incident as calls put her phone rang out. She did not also respond to a text message sent to her phone as of the time of this report. But a source close to her office which spoke to us said the Supol was still being detained on the order of the AIG Adeleke.
