The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Western Zone has called on the relevant Nigerian Security Agents to leave no stone unturned until the killers of the Toru-Angiama two are brought to the full weight of justice.
This the leadership made known in a statement condemning the ainuous crime committed by suspected Herdsmen against Ijaw nation, when they struck and killed two men at Toru-Angiama in Patani Local Government Area of Delta State, which was signed personally by the Zonal Chairman, Dr. Comr. Doubra Collins Okotete, the Liberator reported.
While condemning the grievous incident, the Ijaw Youth Council Zonal Chairman, Dr. Comr. Doubra Collins Okotete had emphasized the need for security agents to hunt down the suspects, whoever they are, and bring them to justice by all means. Adding that sleep had eluded him since the terrible incident occured last Monday, busy contacting relevant stakeholders.
Dr. Okotete insisted however that, Council and indeed Ijaw nation will not rest until the perpetrators are brought to book, as such a criminal act on Ijaw soil can never be swept under the carpet.
Nonetheless, Dr. Okotete extends the sympathy and condolence of the Ijaw Youth Council to the bereft families over the loss theirs and Ijaw promising young men. Adding that it is a great loss to Ijaw nation and the entire Ijaw Youths and indeed Ijaw nation are in this together with them.
Dr. Okotete called on residents of Patani Local Government Area and all Ijaws to be vigilant and alert, and encouraged them to cooperate and work closely with security agencies to see the criminals face the law.
“...this is really sad and painful. Ijaw nation have lost two great sons. As council, we are sounding a note of warning to whoever that is behind such evil act to desist before things will get out of hand. Security agencies must swing into action now...“ Okotete's statement reads in part.
