The PSC’s directive was to address discrepancies between the cadet training commencement dates of the affected officers and their official enlistment dates of their into the Nigeria Police Force. It aimed to align officers’ service records with the Public Service Rule No. 020908, which mandates retirement upon reaching 35 years of service or 60 years of age, whichever comes first. By standardising these appointment dates, the PSC sought to ensure that all officers’ service durations are calculated uniformly, thereby promoting fairness in retirement timelines and adherence to public service regulations. By Owede Agbajileke, Abuja The Federal Government has announced the scrapping of all Junior Secondary School (JSS) and Senior Secondary Schools in the country and introduced a compulsory 12-year uninterrupted basic education model after which a Nigerian child can aspire to higher education. With this development, the Nigerian Government is seeking the abolition of 6-3-3-4 education system and replacing it with 12-4. This is even as it has sought the approval of the National Council on Education to officially adopt 16 years as the minimum entry age requirement into the country’s tertiary institutions. Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, revealed this on Thursday in Abuja during the 2025 extraordinary National Council on Education meeting. The Guardian reports that the NCE is the highest policy-making body in the education sector. IPDI: Blasts Baseless Petition by Faceless NDLEF, Says Otuaro's PAP reforms remain unwavering,

Press statement 9th February, 2025 IPDI rubbishes baseless petition by faceless NDLEF, says Otuaro's PAP reforms remain unwavering, By EgbemaVoice, Our attention has been drawn to some misleading information and outright lies spread by one faceless Odey Otunu and his co-travellers pretending to be members of a non-existing Niger Delta Liberators and Ex,-Agitators Forum (NDLEF) against the administrator of the presidential amnesty programme, Dr Dennis Brutu Otuaro in Punch and Vanguard newspapers on Saturday. These fifth columnists, who seem to be suffering from severe ignorance and dementia, are peddling falsehoods in a bid to damage the hard-earned reputation of the PAP administrator. To set the record straight, Otuaro's appointments were based on merit and not to suit any particular interest. The latest empty petitions and propaganda were attempts to distract Otuaro from his mission to reform and reposition the PAP, and that every well meaning leader, youth and s...

EJELE DEFECTION , DPV REACTS

Our attention has been drawn to the news making the round in some quarters of the media, alleging that the Hon Prince Michela Diden a.k.a Ejele , National Chairman of Delta Poltical Vanguard has defected or planning to defect to the All Progressive Congress (APC). The news is a product of a figment of imagination on the part of the carriers as Hon Michael Diden was, is, and is still flying the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The truth is that it was a ridiculous publicity stunt to create relevance for themselves and give the false impression that there is any good thing about Delta APC to attract members of the PDP to the dwindling party. It is, however, difficult to observe how people are easily persuaded to believe in fake dummies in the name of rumours. Hon Ejele is a foundation member of PDP and will never leave the party for any reason even if everybody decide to decamp to the ruling APC Hon Prince Michael Diden is a strong and highly courageous man and n...
