The Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) hereby used this medium to called on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to intensify its efforts and engagement in the state.
In a statement released on Wednesday, MOSIEND expressed dissatisfaction with NDDC's current approach to programs and training, citing lack of collaboration with state offices that have a deeper understanding of local needs.
The statement signed by the chairman of MOSIEND Western Zone, Comrade Graham Abulu, urged NDDC to decentralize its training programs and activities to allow states contribute their inputs in order for Deltans have their fair share.
He said rather than having the training programmes and activities solely from headquarters where officials may lack understanding of the people at the various states, the Board should concentrate on working with the state Reps for effective delivery.
Comrade Graham maintained that a situation where aides of the Managing Director of the NDDC, hijack training benefits and slots allocated to Deltans was equally not accepted.
Emphasizing that MOSIEND will no longer tolerate any interference, he urged the MD of NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, to caution his aides against meddling with training benefits and slots allocated to Deltans and deal more with the state office.
The MOSIEND Western Zone Chairman stressed the need for more collaboration, inclusivity and consultation to ensure NDDC's initiative effectively address the unique challenges of the Niger Delta region.#
