AN OPEN LETTER TO THE ECONOMIC FINANCIAL CRIMES COMMISSION, EFCC.
We the *Youth Movement Organization of Nigeria (YMON) Delta State Chapter* , is calling for the unconditional release of *Senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, CON,* the former governor of Delta State, who willingly honoured the Economic Financial Crimes Commission's (EFCC) invitation. This appeal highlights the contrast between Okowa's cooperation and the alleged evasion of Mr. Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State, who has yet to face consequences for dodging the commission.
It's worth noting that Okowa's willingness to cooperate with the EFCC demonstrates his commitment to transparency and accountability. As a former governor, he has a track record of serving Delta State, including his *"SMART Agenda"* focused on strategic wealth creation, meaningful peace building, agriculture and industrialization, relevant health and educational policies, and transformed environment through urban renewal.
YMON's appeal emphasizes the importance of releasing Okowa while investigations continue, ensuring that justice is served without unnecessary detention. This approach aligns with the principles of fairness and due process.
