Egbema Youth Political Forum (EGYPF) a grassroots political pressure group in Egbema Kingdom, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State has expressed concern over the shallow representation of Egbema Kingdom at the Delta State House of Assembly by Hon Fred Martins, member representing Warri North Constituency at the State hallow Chamber.
The Chairman of the Forum Barr Baidi Ebigbagha Stephen expressed the displeasure on Monday in the oil City of Warri, where he stated that Hon Martins has been representing us for over Five years has forgotten that Egbema Kingdom which is the Largest Ethnicity in Warri North is under his constituency. The People of Egbema Kingdom voted for him in mass during his first and current second tenure with nothing to show for, not even a bill sponsored for the wellbeing of electorates.
The Leadership of Egbema Youth Political Forum further stated that the representative Hon Fred has never considered the Kingdom even in his Constituency projects that ought to go round for the entire Warri North Local Government to feel the dividend of Democracy.
“We unequivocally call on Hon Martins to step up his efforts by ensuring Egbema is fully represented in all ramifications at the State Assembly. “ our pains and aspirations as Ijaw people who be made known to Government at the floor of the House, our Youths and Women should be enlisted in empowerment and Skill Acquisition Programs, Students in Egbema should be considered for scholarships and meaningful constituency projects should be sited in our communities.
This is not a call to winch hunt our Honorable Member but to remind and call him to order as one who supposed to speak for us as our representative. We don’t want to regret supporting him thus far, for he has viable ambitions in future which will still warrant the support of Egbema people”.
