EgbemaVoice publisher, Comrade Mingo Friday Saya Ogumaka, has extended warm congratulations to Pastor (Dr.) Erik Eriminaye Eko on being honored with the Ijaw Personality Award by the Ijaw Publishers Forum during the maiden Ijaw Media Conference/Dialogue 2024 held in Bayelsa State.

In his message, Comrade Mingo highlighted Pastor Erik Eko's invaluable contributions to the Ijaw nation, particularly in the media space. He described Eko as a steadfast and selfless advocate for the Ijaw cause, whose efforts have elevated the voice and visibility of the Ijaw people.

Profile of Pastor (Dr.) Erik Eriminaye Eko:

Birth and Early Life: Born on June 15, 1981, in Benin City, Edo State, Pastor Erik Eko hails from Ajakurama Town, Egbema kingdom, in Ovia South-West Local Government Area.

Education: He completed his primary and secondary education in Benin City before graduating from Osisatech Polytechnic, Enugu, in 2012.

Media Contributions:

Since 2009, he has served as an Ijaw program presenter and news translator on Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS), showcasing Ijaw culture and language on radio and television.

Community and Religious Leadership:

Ijaw National Congress: Active member of the Benin City chapter.

Ijaw Prayer Network: Program Director, overseeing Ijaw Christian activities in Benin City.

Ijaw Pastors and Ministers Fellowship (IPMF): A pioneer member and the current General Secretary.

By EgbemaVoice, Orerokpe: The Delta State Ethnic Peace and Unity Cup came to a thrilling conclusion this Sunday as Team Itsekiri emerged victorious, defeating Ndokwa East United 3-1 in the final match held at Baptist High School Field, Orerokpe Town. The highly anticipated match began with intense pressure from both teams. Team Itsekiri (Ugbomarun Fc) broke the deadlock in the 25th minute with a stunning goal from their star striker, Ekpeto Udubosi. Ndokwa East United equalized just before halftime through a penalty kick converted by their captain, Okoro Blessing. In the second half, Team Itsekiri regained their momentum, scoring two more goals from Omatseye Eriyo and Ebiwei Gbenedio in the 60th and 80th minutes, respectively.
