...As Etagherure commends Oborevwori for the pilgrims Welfare, tour of Israel and Jordan

By Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq

Pilgrims from Delta State, spent day 4 and 5 praying for Nigeria, Delta State, as well as for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and members of their cabinet and executive council.

The exaltations and prayers conducted by the Chairman of Delta State Christian pilgrims Welfare Board, Apostle Sylvanus Okorete, Board Executive Secretary, Rev Fr Christopher Ekabo, Rev Fr Obadjere and several other ministers of God, were held at the Wailing Wall also known as the Western Wall, which is one of the most significant spiritual temple in the Holy Land, and at the Tomb of Jesus, as well as the Good Shepherd Church in Bethlehem. The Good Shepherd were the first to know about the birth of Jesus Christ through an Angel.

The pilgrims prayed favently for peace in Nigeria, economic prosperity and good governance, and also prayed for consistent economic prosperity of Delta State, peaceful coexistence and sustainable development under the purposeful leadership of the state governor, Dr (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori.

Delta Pilgrims also prayed for political stability, good governance and sustainable democracy in Nigeria, and more particularly for economic growth, stronger national currency, and for genuine spirit of patriotism to overshadow those in authority in public and private sectors,.to fast track national development.

Prayers were also focused on the need for Nigeria to be first in all that we do and say; for the attainment of a new national rebirth where ethnicity, religion and tribal bigotry would no longer have a place in our national life, where we are truly united in diversity.

Speaking at site where Jesus was imprisoned before His crucification, leader of Delta State Pilgrims to the Holy Land of Israel and Jordan, Hon Ejiro Terry Etagherure, emphasized the need for Christians to always remember the sufferings of Jesus, before and during his imprisonment, crucification and death.
The Honourable Commissioner urged the state Pilgrims to see the visit as a rare privilege that enabled individual to reflect on his or her personal spiritual relationship with God, and the choice of where to be after death, Heaven or hell.

He thanked governor Sheriff Oborevwori for doing the needful to ensure the pilgrims visit to the Holy Land of Israel and Jordan, at a time he's executing gigantic roads and other socioeconomic projects across the three senatorial districts, noting that Delta Pilgrims have continue to conduct themselves peacefully in the Holy Land.

In the same vein, Executive Secretary of Delta State Christian pilgrims Welfare Board, Very Rev Fr Christopher Ekabo, said Delta State is among few states with the highest number of pilgrims in the Holy Land of Israel and Jordan, pointing to show the high premium governor Oborevwori and the state government places on the spiritual well-being of Deltans, and absolute recognition of God Almighty as the Alpha and Omega of Nigeria, Delta State and the entire universe.

Rev Fr Ekabo and Rev Fr Obadjere led Pilgrims in prayers at diverse times and places in the Holy Land for peace, prosperity and good governance in Nigeria and Delta State.
Delta Pilgrims were taken through "The Way of the Cross" comprising 14 stations before Jesus got to the place of crucification, death and burial, and on the third day he rose from the dead. The crucifixion point is know as the Golgotha Hill. Delta Pilgrims prayed favently at this historical biblical site. It was indeed a rare privilege.

Prayer points were submitted to the Temple Priest at the Church of Nativity, where Jesus was born in Bethlehem. We saw the Manger and the very spot He was believed to be born and several other places mentioned in the Holy Bible.

More reports as well make steady progress here in the Holy Land of Israel and Jordan. Shalom!
