By EgbemaVoice,

The Egbema Kingdom, under the leadership of Chief Andrew Gorroh, has extended condolences to the Ngbelebiri Kingdom and the family of the late Pa Dr. Sen. (Chief) Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, following his demise on February 17, 2025. The visit was a heartfelt gesture to honor the elder statesman, his family in Kiagbodo town, the Ngbelebiri Kingdom, and the broader Ijaw nation.
Speaking on behalf of the Egbema Kingdom, Chief David Reje highlighted Pa Edwin Clark's extraordinary life as a hero and nationalist. He described Clark as a tireless advocate for justice, resource control, and the equitable treatment of the Niger Delta people. The late Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) leader's relentless fight against oppression and marginalization stands as a legacy of his selfless commitment to the Niger Delta and the Ijaw people.

Chief Reje also recounted significant milestones in Pa Clark's advocacy. These included his efforts to train Niger Delta youths during the reign of the late King His Royal majesty Agadagba of Egbema kingdom Pere Isaac A. Thikan, his support for the NDDC and South-South Assembly, and his role in campaigning for the former president Dr. Goodluck Ebele  Jonathan's ascension to the vice presidency. He reminded all of Clarkโ€™s bold address to Olusegun Obasanjo, where he drew parallels between South African apartheid and the exploitation of the Ijaw peopleโ€™s resources, calling for justice and equity.

Egbema Kingdom acknowledged Pa Clarkโ€™s instrumental role in the development of the Niger Delta and his unyielding stand for fairness, even in challenging circumstances. His legacy includes the historic victory for the Egbema Ijaw people, which led to the emergence of an Ijaw chairman in Warri North Local Government Area.

As part of their tribute, Chief Reje appealed to the Ngbelebiri Kingdom to allow Pa Clarkโ€™s remains to pass through Warri, a significant Ijaw territory, as a final honor to his lifelong dedication to the people of the Niger Delta.

The Egbema Kingdom deeply mourns the loss of this remarkable leader, whose contributions will forever inspire generations to pursue justice, equity, and development for the Niger Delta region.
