In a momentous event held in Oil City, Warri, Delta State, the Egbema Youth Council (EYC), also known as the Egbema Youth Progressive Foundation (EGYPF), inaugurated its newly elected executive members to steer the council's activities for the next three years. The ceremony, which took place at the former Egbema-Gbaramatu Community Development Foundation Secretariat (now Opudis) on Airport Road, Effurun, was a remarkable gathering of youth leaders, community representatives, and dignitaries from both Edo and Delta States.

The newly inaugurated executive, led by Barrister Sode Amatelemowei as President General, was sworn in amidst applause and high expectations from the kingdom's youths. The executive team includes: Vice President: Temeweikuro Michael (Abere), Secretary: Erin-Ebimi Gift (Gbeoba), Treasurer: Olokiri Ebitamaran (Jamagie), Financial Secretary: Esite Emodigha (Abadegbene), Public Relations Officer (PRO): Comr. Ugure Famous (Ogbudugbudu), Organizing Secretary: Amb. Gen. Silas Toruwei JP.LL (Polobubou), Woman Leader: Bunajitei Ebiyekese Joy (Ajakurama), Assistant Secretary: Ugular Endurance (Opuama), Provost: Ayebi Gladys Ireti (Ugbolukanga), Student Representative: Tuwasigha Miyensintei Godspower (Ofunama)

The event attracted a host of notable personalities, including the chairman of the occasion, Hon. Benjamin Kukuru, and chairlady, Hon. Mrs. Florence Bisina, the vice chairman of Warri North local Government Area council of Delta state, Other prominent attendees included: comrade Nicolas Igarama Western Zone IYC chairman, Comrade Austin Ozobo, President of the Ijaw Publishers Forum, General Chief Aroni Oputu, Chairman of the Niger Delta Presidential Amnesty Programme First Phase General Forum, Barrister Toru-ibe Agagha chairman Egbema Lawyers forum and executive, Treasurer of the Ijaw Publishers Forum, and progressive Youth leadership foundation of Niger Delta Edo State chapter Comrade Mingo Meshach Sayami Ogumaka, pioneer Elco chairman Alfred M. Boyed, Leaders from neighboring Ijaw kingdom, including presidents of the Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Youth Council, Gbaramatu clan Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), and Comr. Lawoni Dumofaye  Egbema clan IYC chairman,

Also present were former Egbema Youth Council leaders, including Comr. M. Ebidouwei, and his vice Hon. Nike Tame Edah alongside other distinguished guests.

In his farewell address, the outgoing President, Comrade City Eferusoa Kelvin, officially dissolved the former executive and handed over leadership to the new team. He thanked the youths of Egbema Kingdom for their support throughout his tenure and expressed hope for greater achievements under the new leadership.

In his inaugural speech, Barrister Sode Amatelemowei expressed profound gratitude to God and the people of Egbema Kingdom for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the youth council. He pledged to prioritize unity, development, and progress, while also seeking the prayers and support of all stakeholders to ensure a successful tenure.

The ceremony was enlivened by thrilling performances from renowned Niger Delta musicians, King Karinto and Egbema kingdom celebrated MC Abioka and crew. Their energetic renditions added color to the occasion, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the Ijaw people.

The inauguration of the new executive underscores the commitment of the Egbema Youth Council to fostering unity and progress across the kingdom. By bridging the divide between Edo and Delta States, the council aims to strengthen its advocacy for development, peace, and the welfare of the Egbema people.

The newly elected President General called on all youths, community leaders, and stakeholders to work together towards achieving the collective aspirations of the kingdom. He emphasized that the success of the council would depend on active participation, collaboration, and unwavering dedication from every member of the community.

With this new leadership team, the Egbema Youth Council is poised to tackle the challenges ahead and build a brighter future for the Egbema Kingdom.
