Pipeline Surveillance Contract: Tantita Strengthens National Confidence as David Osia Applauds GOC Tompolo, Kestin Pondi, and Blasts Critics

The Niger Delta youth leader, Hon. David Osia, has issued a powerful rebuke of sustained media campaigns and coordinated attacks against Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, describing them as “deliberate acts of economic sabotage and anti-development propaganda targeted at destabilising one of Nigeria’s most successful indigenous security interventions in the oil and gas sector.”
Speaking during a media interaction with EgbemaVoice news, Osia stated that Tantita’s emergence has fundamentally transformed pipeline surveillance and asset protection in Nigeria, restoring both national confidence and international credibility in the country’s energy security architecture.
He praised the visionary leadership of High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (GOC Tompolo, PhD), describing him as “a strategic national asset whose commitment to Nigeria’s unity, stability, and economic survival is now evident in the measurable successes of Tantita’s operations.”
According to Osia, Tantita has achieved unprecedented operational milestones, including:
Drastic reduction in crude oil theft and illegal bunkering across critical oil corridors in the Niger Delta
Stabilisation of pipeline infrastructure, leading to improved crude evacuation and production reliability
Recovery and protection of national oil assets previously abandoned to criminal networks
Strengthening of intelligence-led surveillance systems across creeks, offshore routes, and terminal channels
Collaboration with state security agencies, enhancing coordinated national security response capacity
He further commended the management, lead by High chief Kestine Ebimobowei Pondi, MD Tantita security Nigeria limited, Chief Godfrey Tare Pondi, operational manager and others for building a professional operational structure that integrates community intelligence, modern surveillance strategy, and disciplined field coordination.
Beyond security, Osia highlighted Tantita’s developmental footprint in the Niger Delta, noting that the company has delivered tangible socio-economic transformation through:
Mass youth employment and engagement, reducing restiveness and criminal recruitment
Community-based economic empowerment, creating alternative livelihoods in riverine communities
Peace-building and conflict de-escalation, replacing violent competition with structured engagement
Human capacity development, through training, discipline, and skills exposure
Stability-driven development, enabling communities to access economic opportunities previously blocked by insecurity
“Tantita is not just a security company; it is a stabilisation institution. It has converted conflict zones into development corridors and transformed insecurity into opportunity. This is nation-building in action,” Osia declared.
He condemned critics of the company as “vested interests threatened by transparency, accountability, and the collapse of illegal oil economies that once benefited them.”
Osia stressed that the success of Tantita represents a proof of indigenous capacity, demonstrating that Nigerian-owned institutions can deliver world-class services in strategic national sectors when supported by political will and institutional trust.
He called on the Federal Government, NNPCL, and regulatory stakeholders to deepen their support for Tantita’s operations, stating that weakening such a structure would amount to undermining Nigeria’s economic recovery and energy security framework.
“When a Nigerian solution works, it must be strengthened not destroyed. Tantita has proven that national security, community development, and economic growth can coexist. This is the model Nigeria must protect,” he said.
Osia concluded by urging Niger Delta youths, traditional institutions, and community leaders to resist propaganda, defend productive institutions, and align with initiatives that promote peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region.
“Tantita is protecting pipelines, yes—but more importantly, it is protecting Nigeria’s future, unity, and economic destiny,” he added.
