The Youth Leader of Egbema Kingdom, Comrade Mingo Friday Sayami Ogumaka, has strongly condemned the killing of some youths in Late Bradley’s Village, describing the incident as unfortunate, condemnable, and a dangerous development capable of threatening the peace and unity of Egbema Kingdom.
Reacting to reports surrounding the incident, youth leader expressed deep concern over allegations that armed youth leader from Ogbinbiri was allegedly hired in connection with the killing of four young men, as contained in a voice recording reportedly linked to Mr. Felix Eyitoyo Bradley son to the owner of the village, According to the circulating allegations voice record, some individuals from Kokodiagbene Community and Ogbinbiri have been mentioned, although both communities have publicly distanced themselves from any involvement in the conflict through separate statements.
Comrade Mingo stated that, as the Youth Leader of Egbema Kingdom, he finds the development totally unacceptable and strongly condemns every form of violence and bloodshed among brothers within the kingdom.
“Killing ourselves is never the solution. It is totally unacceptable and an unwelcome development in Egbema Kingdom. Violence cannot bring development, peace, or unity to our land,” he stated.
He urged all parties involved to remain calm and allow wisdom, dialogue, and lawful processes to prevail in resolving whatever grievances may exist. He further called on community leaders across the affected areas to handle the matter with maturity and responsibility to prevent further escalation.
Comrade Mingo also appealed to the Nigeria Police Force, particularly the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, to immediately launch a thorough investigation into the allegations and ensure that anyone found culpable is brought to justice.
He further charged all communities in Egbema Kingdom to reject violence, avoid retaliation, and embrace peaceful coexistence, stressing that unity and development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace.
“Attacking and killing ourselves can never be a welcome development. We must shun these attitudes and work together for the progress and peaceful future of Egbema Kingdom.”
Comrade Mingo reaffirmed his commitment to promoting peace, justice, and harmony across Egbema Kingdom and urged all youths to remain law-abiding as authorities investigate the matter.
