Egbema Youth Political Forum Charges Egbema House of Assembly Aspirants to Build Strong Unity Ahead of the 2027 General Elections
By Egbemavoice
The Egbema Youth Political Forum (EGYPF) has called on all sons and daughters of Egbema Kingdom aspiring to represent the kingdom in the Delta State and Edo State House of Assembly to embrace unity, mutual understanding, and strategic political collaboration as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued by the Chairman of the Forum, Barr. Ebigbagha Baidi and Spokesman, Barr. Ebiterigha D. Ejemi, the organization stated in clear terms that the political future of Egbema Kingdom depends largely on the ability of its leaders and aspirants to put aside personal ambitions and work collectively toward achieving effective representation and sustainable development.
Barr. Ebigbagha noted that Egbema Kingdom, which spans Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State and Ovia South-West and Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Areas of Edo State, possesses enormous political potential that can only be realized through unity of purpose and coordinated political engagement.
According to him, every aspirant deserves commendation for demonstrating courage, commitment, and willingness to serve the people. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the various candidates, including the enormous financial commitments, grassroots consultations, party activities, mobilization efforts, and participation in party primaries.
He stressed that these sacrifices should not divide the people but instead inspire a stronger resolve to work together for the common interest of Egbema Kingdom.
"The time has come for all Egbema political aspirants to build confidence among themselves, strengthen their relationships, and pursue a common vision for the progress of our kingdom. Political competition should never destroy our unity. After every primary election comes the larger battle of the general election, and that battle can only be won through solidarity and collective action."
Barr. Ebigbagha further stated that the foremost objective of the Forum is to ensure that qualified sons and daughters of Egbema Kingdom emerge victorious and occupy seats in both the Delta State House of Assembly and the Edo State House of Assembly after the 2027 elections.
He urged political actors to remain focused, strategic, patient, and calculative in their decisions, explaining that electoral victory requires careful planning, strong alliances, effective negotiation, and broad political acceptance beyond individual interests.
Speaking particularly on the political situation in Edo State, he lamented the prolonged marginalization of Egbema Kingdom, describing it as a consequence of ethnic discrimination, selfish political interests, internal disunity, and the failure of some stakeholders to prioritize the collective aspirations of the people.
"For decades, Egbema people in Edo State have remained politically marginalized. We cannot continue to mobilize votes for others while our own sons and daughters are denied opportunities to represent us. This trend must come to an end."
He therefore called on all political stakeholders, traditional leaders, youth organizations, women groups, professionals, and community leaders to close ranks and speak with one voice in advancing the political interests of Egbema Kingdom.
Barr.. Ebigbagha emphasized that political success requires a proper understanding of party structures, voting strength, electoral calculations, strategic alliances, and sustained grassroots mobilization. He urged aspirants to avoid unnecessary rivalry, personal attacks, and actions capable of weakening the collective bargaining power of Egbema people.
The EGYPF Chairman reaffirmed the Forum's commitment to supporting any aspirant who emerges through a transparent and credible process as the consensus candidate of his or her political party and, where possible, as the consensus candidate of Egbema Kingdom.
He explained that the Forum is prepared to engage political parties, negotiate with other ethnic nationalities, and build strategic partnerships that will enhance the chances of Egbema candidates during the 2027 elections.
"Our position is clear. Whoever emerges as the consensus candidate of any political party and enjoys the confidence of the people will receive the support of the Egbema Youth Political Forum. We are prepared to work with all stakeholders and negotiate with other ethnic nationalities where necessary to secure victory for Egbema Kingdom."
He concluded by appealing to every aspirant to maintain regular dialogue with fellow contestants, respect one another, accept the outcome of legitimate political processes, and continue working together as one united Egbema family.
According to him, political offices are temporary, but the unity, peace, and development of Egbema Kingdom remain permanent responsibilities that every son and daughter must protect.
The Forum reiterated that the 2027 general elections present a historic opportunity for Egbema Kingdom to strengthen its political relevance in both Delta and Edo States, urging all stakeholders to remain united, focused, and committed to securing quality representation that will attract meaningful development, protect the interests of the people, and advance the collective aspirations of present and future generations.
