Amaokosuwei of Ajakurama town Chief Abel Yanwei Passes On,

The Ajakurama Development Initiative has announced the passing of Chief Abel Yanwei, the Amaokosuwei (community head) of Ajakurama Town, traditional headquarters of Egbema kingdom, Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State.
Chief Yanwei, fondly called Chief Gbejayo, passed away in the early hours of Saturday, 18th October 2025, at Ajakurama Town,
Until his death, Chief Yanwei was a dedicated Christian and a committed member of Ajakurama Baptist Church. He once served as Chairman of Ajakurama Community and worked as a classroom teacher at Ajakurama Primary School before his retirement.
He was widely respected as the oldest man in Ajakurama, known for his discipline, neatness, humility, and gentle disposition before his long illness.
The Ajakurama Development Initiative deeply mourns the loss of a father, leader, and elder whose wisdom guided many. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, especially his devoted wife who stood faithfully by him until his passing.
May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
