Egbema Youth Council Opens Political Space Ahead of 2027 Elections, Receives First Declaration in Sapele Meeting

The Egbema Youth Council held a well-attended emergency general meeting in Sapele Town to deliberate on strategic participation in the forthcoming 2027 general elections, drawing together youth leaders, stakeholders, and members from across the Egbema Kingdom.
The meeting, presided over by the Council President worldwide, Comrade Barrister Sode Amatelemowei, focused on positioning Egbema youths for active political engagement and representation across various elective offices.
In his address, the President speaks on unity, inclusiveness, and political awareness, stressing that the Council remains neutral and open to all political parties.
He further stressing that, “As of now, the Council has not endorsed any candidate. We are open and ready to work with all political parties that present Egbema sons and daughters for elective positions,” he stated.
Comrade Amatelemowei further urged youths to be bold, proactive, and ready to defend the interests of the Egbema Kingdom, noting that the time has come for the people to take their rightful place in governance.
The Council declared its readiness to support and produce credible candidates for key political positions, including: Warri Federal Constituency (House of Representatives) Delta State House of Assembly, Edo State House of Assembly and Chairmanship positions across the three Local Government Areas of Egbema Kingdom,
A major highlight of the meeting was the formal declaration of intention by Hon. Benjamin Kukuru, popularly known as Ebis, to contest for the Delta State House of Assembly representing Warri North Local Government Area. The Council clarified that the primary aim of the meeting was to provide a platform for aspiring candidates to declare their intentions ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a significant resolution, the Egbema Youth Council officially opened its doors to all interested aspirants, encouraging Egbema sons and daughters across political parties to engage with the Council and declare their ambitions.
The Council also assured all aspirants of fairness, inclusiveness, and support, reaffirming its commitment to working with any political party that offers its platform to qualified Egbema indigenes.
Furthermore, the Council reiterated its readiness to collaborate with political stakeholders to ensure Egbema representation in key positions, including:
Delta State House of Assembly, Warri Federal Constituency (House of Representatives), Edo State House of Assembly (Ovia South-West Local Government Area), Other elective offices across the region
The meeting concluded with a strong call for unity, active participation, and collective responsibility among Egbema youths to secure a better political future for the Kingdom in the 2027 general elections.
