PRESS STATEMENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EDEGBENE FEDERATED COMMUNITY CONDEMNS ALLEGED MILITARY INTIMIDATION, WARNS JOSEPH EDESRIMI BOSON TO DESIST FROM DESTABILIZING ACTIVITIES
By Egbemavoice
The Edegbene Federated Community in Seimbiri Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, strongly condemns the alleged use of military personnel to intimidate and threaten the peace and security of the community.
This condemnation follows a reported incident in which Mr. Joseph Edesrimi Boson allegedly arrived in Edegbene Community accompanied by three military vehicles conveying armed personnel. The presence of armed operatives within the community created panic and apprehension among residents, disrupting the otherwise peaceful atmosphere.
The leadership of Edegbene Community views this action as a serious act of provocation, intimidation, and a direct threat to the peace, unity, and stability of the community. Such conduct is unacceptable and inconsistent with the values and traditions of the Seimbiri Kingdom.
The community reiterates that Mr. Joseph Edesrimi Boson has been duly disqualified from participating in the kingship selection process of the Edegbene ruling house on the grounds that he is not a recognized indigene of Edegbene Community. This position was unanimously reaffirmed during an emergency general meeting of the community, where it was clearly established that he has no ancestral or genealogical ties to Edegbene ruling house, the gazzette shared the descendants of the seimbiri kingdom into ruling houses,
Furthermore, the community strongly rejects any claims or publications suggesting otherwise, describing them as false, misleading, and an attempt to distort established facts. The integrity of the traditional institution and its processes must be respected and preserved at all times.
It is also on record that Mr. Boson had previously identified with another community in pursuit of the same kingship ambition, only to alter his claims following the decision that the kingship position is exclusive to the Edegbene ruling house. This inconsistency raises serious concerns about the credibility of his claims and intentions.
The Edegbene Federated Community, therefore, issues a firm warning to Mr. Joseph Edesrimi Boson to immediately desist from any actions capable of inciting unrest, misleading the public, or undermining the authority of the community and its traditional leadership.
The community further calls on relevant security agencies and government authorities to investigate the alleged involvement of military personnel in this matter and to ensure that security institutions are not used for personal or unlawful purposes.
Edegbene Community remains committed to peace, unity, and the preservation of its cultural heritage. All stakeholders are urged to respect due process and allow the kingship selection to proceed without interference.
