The Ijaw Youth Leader, Comrade Mingo Meshach Saya Ogumaka, has heartily congratulated High Chief Barr. Macdonald Igbadiwei on his resounding victory in the 2026 Ijaw National Congress (INC) election, held at the revered Ijaw House in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Describing the outcome as both historic and well-deserved, Comrade Mingo noted that the emergence of High Chief Igbadiwei marks a defining moment for the Ijaw nation, signaling a new era of purposeful, courageous, and visionary leadership.

According to him, High Chief Igbadiwei is a fearless, vocal, and principled leader who has consistently demonstrated an educationalist, unifier, dedicated and commitment to the preservation of Ijaw cultural heritage and the promotion of the Izon language. He further described him as a distinguished historian and a dedicated patriot whose depth of knowledge and passion for the Ijaw cause stand him out as a true son of the soil.

“Today, the Ijaw nation has once again produced a dynamic and credible leader—an icon fully prepared to advance the collective aspirations of our people and reposition the Ijaw nation for greater relevance and progress,” Comrade Mingo stated.

He also extended his commendation to all leaders who emerged victorious in the election, applauding their resilience, sacrifices, and commitment to service. He emphasized that their emergence reflects the collective will and unity of the Ijaw people.

Comrade Mingo offered prayers for divine wisdom, strength, and strategic insight for the new leadership, urging them to remain steadfast in defending the rights, identity, and resources of the Ijaw people and the broader Niger Delta region.

He expressed confidence that under the leadership of High Chief Barr. Macdonald Igbadiwei, the Ijaw National Congress will witness renewed vigor, strengthened unity, and progressive advancement.
