Edegbene Community Affirms King-Designate Eric Wareboroeyegha, Rejects Commercialization of Traditional Institutions
By EgbemaVoice
The Edegbene community has been thrown into heightened alert and firm resolve following the historic arrival and formal declaration of interest by King-Designate Mr. Eric Wareboroeyegha in the ongoing traditional succession process of the Seimbiri Kingdom.
We state categorically that traditional institutions, sacred symbols, and royal tools are not for sale. They are divine inheritances, deeply rooted in the gods and ancestral spirits of the land, and must never be subjected to financial manipulation or external influence. Any attempt to commercialize the sacred Seimbiri stool is a direct affront to our ancestral values, cultural ethics, and collective identity as a people.
The Seimbiri Clan remains one of the most ancient, revered, and structured traditional institutions in Western Ijaw history. Its kingship process is guided by time-honoured customs, spiritual validation, and communal consensus. We therefore insist on a free, fair, transparent, and tradition-compliant selection process, strictly in line with established customs and without interference from monetary interests or political pressure.
The Edegbene community has spoken with one voice in affirming and supporting their worthy and patriotic son, King-Designate Mr. Eric Wareboroeyegha, whose courage, integrity, humility, and unwavering commitment to the unity of the kingdom are well known. His maiden visit to the land was marked by clear spiritual affirmation, as signified by the ancestral spirit of Temezigha, further reinforcing his legitimacy and acceptance by both the living and the ancestors.
We, alongside other concerned stakeholders across the Seimbiri Kingdom, stand solidly and resolutely behind Mr. Eric Wareboroeyegha as the rightful King-Designate. His emergence symbolizes hope, justice, reconciliation, and a renewed commitment to peace and unity among all communities within the kingdom.
History teaches us that when the righteous rule, the people rejoice. Mr. Eric Wareboroeyegha has come not to divide, but to unite; not to dominate, but to serve; and not to compromise tradition, but to uphold and strengthen it.
We call on all stakeholders, custodians of tradition, and relevant authorities to respect the sanctity of the Seimbiri kingship institution, uphold ancestral ethics, and allow the will of the people and the guidance of the ancestors to prevail.
May God Almighty and the ancestral spirits of Seimbiri guide, protect, and crown the rightful choice of the people
