Dignitaries Grace Traditional Marriage Ceremony of Merit Eghwubare and Gandi Wisdom Tanimaw in Oghara,

The traditional marriage ceremony of the General Manager of Egbemavoice News, Mrs. Merit Eghwubare, and her husband, Gandi Wisdom Tanimaw, was held at Mission Lane, Ogharaeki, off Udurhie Primary School, Oghara Town, drawing dignitaries from across the Niger Delta and beyond.
The culturally rich ceremony attracted prominent personalities from Delta, Edo, Bayelsa, and Ondo States, who gathered to witness the union. The groom, Gandi Wisdom Tanimaw, a renowned youth leader and media executive, is a former Senate member of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) 5th Mobile Parliament, former Speaker of the Egbema Youth Council, and the General Manager of Egbemavoice News.
In fulfillment of Urhobo traditional requirements, the groom formally paid the bride price of the Oghara-born bride, Merit Eghwubare, thereby sealing the union in accordance with custom. All traditional rites were meticulously observed, including the payment of dowry, the presentation and sharing of palm wine, and the ceremonial unveiling and presentation of the bride and groom, in line with Urhobo cultural practices.
The event was marked by colourful displays of cultural heritage, music, and traditional performances, reflecting the richness of Urhobo traditions and symbolising unity between families and communities.
Among the dignitaries present were High Chief David Reje, the Iyesouwei of Egbema Kingdom; High Chief Ebi Eyanmi; Comrade Nicolas Igarama, Western Zone Chairman of the Ijaw Youth Council; Comrade Hon. Bobo Collins Iigetei, former Speaker of the 5th Mobile Parliament of the Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide; Comrade Martin Lawuru, a critical stakeholder of the Egbema Youth; comrade Mingo Friday Sayami publisher Egbemavoice News, Comr Julius Igbiriki Comrade Rufus Ebiwei, IYC Parliament member; Comrade Egberima Ruth Ipiteikumoh, former Parliament member; and Comrade Harriet Jimmoh, former Women Leader of the Egbema Clan Ijaw Youth Council, alongside other notable guests.
