It was a moment of deep emotion, reverence, and solemn reflection as the remains of the late Pa Smart Temile and his beloved wife, Mama Mary Sain-Tobou Temile, arrived at Ajakurama Town, the traditional headquarters of Egbema Kingdom, for their final journey home.
The funeral rites culminated at Ojudokiri Zion, Ajakurama Town, in Ovia South-West Local Government Area of Edo State, where the couple was laid to rest amid prayers, tears, and heartfelt tributes.
The funeral service and wake-keeping, held at Idaji Idumu, Ojudokiri Zion, Ajakurama, drew a large gathering of family members, prominent chiefs, leaders, church ministers, women groups, youth organisations, and sympathisers from far and near. The atmosphere was marked by thanksgiving to God for lives described as virtuous, selfless, and impactful, coupled with deep sorrow over their departure.

The ceremonies commenced with a solemn church service at Ojudokiri Zion, officiated by the King of Zion, His Eminence Obibi J. Ojuemi, alongside Rev. Kenneth Toruwei, Dr. Prophet Isaac Ayedi, Prophet Ebimobowei Bigman, Pastor Prince Inaga Ejemi, and other anointed men of God. Through hymns, scriptural exhortations, and fervent prayers, the ministers reminded the congregation of the Christian hope of resurrection and eternal rest. The service was deeply emotional, as songs of praise blended with tears and moments of quiet reflection.

In his sermon, the officiating minister extolled the godly virtues of Mama Mary Sain-Tobou Temile, describing her as a woman of unwavering faith, humility, and dedication to family and community service. He encouraged the children and loved ones she left behind to uphold her enduring legacy of love, unity, and devotion to God.

Tributes flowed from family members, community leaders, and representatives of various organisations, all testifying to her motherly role, peaceful disposition, and positive influence within Ajakurama Town and the wider Egbema Kingdom. She was fondly remembered as a pillar of strength whose counsel and kindness touched many lives.

Following the church service, the funeral procession moved to the graveside, where final prayers were offered before the remains were committed to mother earth. Amid tears and heartfelt farewells, the late matriarch was laid to rest in her ancestral home, marking the close of a life well lived.

The entire event was conducted peacefully and in strict accordance with Egbema cultural values and Christian traditions, reflecting the high esteem in which the deceased couple was held. Guests were later hosted by the family as a gesture of appreciation for the prayers, support, and solidarity shown during the period of mourning.

The wake-keeping for Pa Smart Temile continued through the night at Idaji Idumu, where renowned musician Taye Toikumoh thrilled mourners with soul-stirring performances until the early hours of the following day. Thereafter, Pa Smart Temile was also laid to rest at his country home in Ajakurama, beside his beloved wife.

Pa Smart Temile and Mama Mary Sain-Tobou Temile will be remembered for their strong faith, exemplary family life, and lasting contributions to the Ajakurama community and Egbema Kingdom at large. Though they have departed this earthly realm, their memories remain indelible in the hearts of their family and people.
May their gentle souls rest in perfect peace.

Reports, The attention of the 81 Division Nigerian Army has been drawn to a story online over the  unfortunate incident that occurred between some soldiers and policemen around Ojo in Lagos resulting in the loss of the life of a police officer.  The Division is already in touch with the Lagos State Police Command to resolve the matter. This incident  is highly regrettable given the Division’s disposition and zero tolerance for any misconduct. Accordingly, the Division has instituted a Board of Inquiry to unravel the circumstance surrounding  the unfortunate incident  At the end of the investigation, anyone found culpable  will be made to face the full wrath of the disciplinary provisions..
