A CALL FOR CALM AND PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE IN IKOKOTORU COMMUNITIES AND ADOLOSEIMO COMMUNITIES.
The rift between our bordering communities, IKOKOTORU Communities of Warri North LGA of Delta State and ADOLOSEIMO Communities of Ese Odo LGA of Ondo, has called for a serious concern.
As Ijaws, we have lived together as brothers for over decades without crisis everywhere we find ourselves, and it is that brotherly spirit that has kept us Strong and Victorious even in times of trouble.
Tolling the path of slaughtering ourselves as a result of dispute amongst ourselves is totally condemnable and must be stopped immediately.
I personally condemn the callous manslaughter that has happened between these communities, thereby leading to lost of lives of young and promising youths from both ends.
I commiserate with the families of the victims of this dastardly act that has cut short the promising future of our brothers.
On this note, I am calling on the Commissioner of Police Delta State, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, DPO Koko division, Csp luckman Olaogun and Commissioner Of police Ondo State, CP Adebowale Lawal, and the DPO Arogbo Police Post, Chairman Warri North LGA and Chairman Ese Odo LGA and other security agencies within the region to rise to the occasion and maintain the peace we have enjoyed over the years.
I also extend my appeal to our traditional rulers of both Egbema and Arogbo Kingdom, to work together towards a lasting and peaceful resolution to this violence that has been unleashed. There must be respect for the sanctity of human life and a mutual co-existence.
It is my prayer that the families whose loved ones has been lost be comforted, from both the Arogbo Kingdom and Egbema Kingdom respectively.
I urge the groups involved in the conflict to immediately cease hostility, and refrain from further attack on innocent people, especially youths who are the leaders of tomorrow.
We must learn to resolve our differences peacefully without the use of violence or taking up of arms against ourselves, we are all we've got.
May peace be restored in our Kingdoms.
Amb Egelu Edise-emi Bright.
Acting National Secretary.
IYC Worldwide.
