Amb Pere urged the youth, community leaders, and government officials to work together to foster an environment of peace and development in the Niger Delta. He highlighted the need for inclusiveness and equity in resource distribution, stressing that only through mutual understanding and respect can lasting peace be achieved.
His appeal comes at a time when Rivers State has faced challenges linked to insecurity and economic concerns, affecting the overall stability of the region. Peres Kins reiterated his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote reconciliation and progress for the Niger Delta communities.
Comr. Festus has attributed the rising tension in Rivers State to the suspension of Governor Fubara Siminalayi and other elected officials in the state. He expressed concerns that the situation has escalated due to political missteps and urged for immediate intervention to restore calm and stability.
Amb Pere called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address the misunderstanding surrounding the suspensions with care, sincerity, and a focus on justice. He stressed that such political conflicts, if left unresolved, could negatively impact governance and the lives of ordinary citizens in Rivers State.
He also appealed for unity among political stakeholders in the state, urging them to prioritize the welfare of the people over personal or partisan interests. According to Peres Kins, only a sincere and inclusive approach can resolve the current impasse and pave the way for sustainable peace and development in the Niger Delta.
