Captain Dan Ekpa’s Call for Peace in the Niger Delta,

In light of the ongoing challenges of insecurity, environmental degradation, and economic instability in the Niger Delta, Captain Dan Ekpa has issued a timely call for peace and cooperation among all stakeholders in the region.

Captain Ekpa emphasizes the need for a collaborative approach involving government agencies, security forces, civil society organizations, and local communities to address the root causes of unrest. He notes that addressing poverty, unemployment, and environmental damage is key to achieving long-term stability.

He has also urged stakeholders to remain calm and cooperative in the wake of the state of emergency declared in Rivers State. In his response to the present situation of the region, community leaders and organizations are need to rallying behind the Government, key recommendations to achieve lasting peace:

2. Addressing Root Causes: Launching targeted programs to tackle poverty, youth unemployment, and the environmental impact of oil exploration.

3. Community Engagement: Fostering dialogue and empowering community leaders to mediate disputes and build trust among residents.
