Niger Delta Youth Leader, Comrade Mingo Mourns Former IGP Solomon Arase

The Niger Delta Youth Leader, Comrade Mingo Meshach Sayami Ogumaka, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Ehigiator Arase, who died on 31st August 2025, just ten months before his 70th birthday.
Comrade Mingo described Arase as “a fine and exceptional police officer, a towering figure in Nigerian security architecture who served his country with gallantry and distinction.”
Arase, who served as the 18th Inspector-General of Police following the removal of Suleiman Abba, previously headed the Nigerian Police Force’s top intelligence unit, the Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Bureau (CIIB). He later served as Chairman of the Nigeria Police Service Commission, further contributing to reforms and discipline within the force.

I, Comrade Mingo Meshach Sayami Ogumaka, on behalf of the Niger Delta Youth, express my deepest condolences on the passing of former Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Solomon Ehigiator Arase, CFR, who departed this life on 31st August 2025, just ten months to his 70th birthday.
Dr. Arase was an exemplary police officer who served the nation with uncommon dedication, discipline, and courage. As the 18th Inspector-General of Police and former Chairman of the Police Service Commission, he contributed immensely to strengthening law enforcement and advancing security reforms in Nigeria.
His death is a profound loss, not only to Edo State and the Niger Delta region but to the entire nation. We have lost a towering figure — a patriot, a professional of the highest repute, and a hero whose legacy of service will endure for generations.
I extend my heartfelt sympathy to the immediate family of Dr. Arase, the Government and people of Edo State, the Nigeria Police Force, and all Nigerians who mourn this irreparable loss. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
