Warri, Delta State — In a move that signals a new era of accountability and leadership renewal, the newly elected Third Phase Amnesty Delegates Chairman, General Godstime Ogidigba, has commenced a peace-building and appreciation tour across the Niger Delta region, beginning yesterday, September 24, 2025, in Warri City.

The fiery ex-agitator, now at the helm of the Third Phase Amnesty Delegates, did not mince words as he used the opportunity to speak truth to power, He openly exposed his predecessor,Elaye Slabor attempt to perpetuate himself in office against the spirit of fairness and democratic practice.

Elaye Slabor wanted to sit tight and turn this office into a personal empire. But the delegates rejected that undemocratic tendency. Our people have suffered enough under leaders who mistake positions of trust for lifetime entitlements,” Ogidigba thundered.

Declaring that his leadership will not tolerate such greed-driven power games, General Ogidigba unveiled his plan to institutionalize a rotational system of chairmanship among delegates.

During my time, we will put a constitution in place a binding framework that will make rotation of the chairman’s office mandatory. Nobody will hijack the system again. The era of sit-tight syndrome has ended under my watch,” he assured.

The newly elected chairman emphasized that his leadership is founded on peace-building, unity, and inclusivity, adding that his ongoing tour across the Niger Delta which will proceed to Bayelsa State next week is part of his broader strategy to rebuild trust among leaders, stakeholders, and delegates.

Ogidigba also extended gratitude to journalists for their role in giving voice to the struggles and aspirations of Niger Delta youths, urging them to remain fearless in holding leaders accountable.

As the region watches, General Godstime Ogidigba’s bold stance has already set a ferocious new tone of leadership, one that promises to dismantle the entrenched culture of greed and impose true democratic order in the Third Phase Amnesty structure.
