By EgbemaVoice,
Federal Capital Territory, FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike has suspended the Mandate Secretary for Education, Danlami Hayoo over reports on early closure of public schools in the nation’s capital.
Reports earlier indicated that the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA had ordered all public senior secondary schools in the nation’s capital to close on or before Friday, November 28, 2025, citing rising security concerns.
According to a circular dated November 25, and obtained by AIT.live, the FCT Secondary Education Board had directed that all academic activities must end by Friday, with students “properly dismissed in an orderly and safe manner.”
The Board further instructed school authorities to ensure clear communication with learners, staff, and parents; and to make necessary adjustments to scheduled activities where required; and resume normal operations on the next official school day unless otherwise directed.
Schools had also been urged to treat the directive as a matter of priority.
