1. SENATE REMOVES SHEHU BUBA UMAR AS CHAIRMAN OF NATIONAL SECURITY COMMITTEE. 

The Senate has officially removed Senator Shehu Buba Umar, (APC Bauchi), as Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security. 

Senator Umar has been under scrutiny by U.S. Intelligence agencies due to alleged links with terrorist organizations operating in Nigeria. 
Umar has a reported history of sponsoring bandits and terrorists to participate in pilgrimages to Mecca. 

His removal clears the way for a thorough investigation into how politicians may be enabling and protecting terrorism in the country while benefiting from it. 
US is also insisting that Mattawale should also go. 
They earlier gave evidence that Badaru was too soft on the Fulani band!ts/ Terror!st
