UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres decried the strike and capture of Venezuelan president, Nicholas Maduro as a "dangerous precedent" While Argentinian president Javier Meiles celebrated it as an "excellent news"

However, United Nations came into being as a result of the League of Nations inability to prevent the outbreak of second world war (ww2)

League of Nations was formed shortly after the first world war (ww1). During the first world war, European countries almost obliterated themselves. It took the involvement of America in that war, to bring it to an end. 

Afterwards, they formed League of Nations, which was suggested by the then president of the United States. Meanwhile, because of America's "Policy of Isolationism" during this period, they did not join the league of Nations. 

League Nations was like a toothless bulldog in the face of German's Hitler subsequent aggression, which led to the second world war (ww2). 

Again, it took the involvement of America to defeat the alliance of Japan, Italian Benito Mussolini, and Hitler's German forces. 

It was in the aftermath of this defeat, that second world war came to an end. 

Hence, the formation of the United Nations in 1945. At this point, American became a member of the United Nations, which was for the purpose of preventing wars of such magnitude in the future. America became the sole guarantor of this objective. For those asking why America is acting as world police. This is the answer. The league of Nations failed in its own objective of preventing wars because of America's non membership of the league. They ended the war and decided to stay away. 

As such, America is the United Nations, and united nations is America. America became the biggest financier of this global body.

Nevertheless, united Nations have equally failed citizens of many countries around the world whose leaders hide under the coverage of sovereignty to oppress, mistreat, and kill. United Nations have not been able to put strong sanctions on these oppressive rulers. They only make statements to condemn their actions and everyone moves on.

United Nations, just like the League of Nations have also become a toothless bulldog. 

Presently, president Donald J. Trump is effectively doing the work which the United Nations ought to be doing. 

As such, president Donald J Trump is more important to the oppressed people of the world than the United Nations.

IPF fixes February for national elections, appoints Abai Electoral Chairman,

By EgbemaVoice, The Ijaw Publishers' Forum (IPF) has officially kicked off preparations for its upcoming national leadership election, scheduling it for February and appointing a new Electoral Committee led by Mr. Francis Abai of PENGlobal as Chairman. The committee also includes Mr. Cletus Opukeme of Daily Watch as Secretary and Mr. Joseph Kanjo of Info Daily as a member.
