Dr Dennis Otuaro Congratulates IPF New Leadership, Calls for Support
By EgbemaVoice
Dr. Dennis Otuaro has congratulated the new leadership of the Ijaw Publishers Forum (IPF), led by senior Comrade Ozobo Austin, charging them to have confidence in themselves as they lead the organization.
Speaking through Mr. Prebor Presley, the coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme Delta/Edo State office, Otuaro Commended IPF for delivering on its mandate of telling the Ijaw/Niger Delta story from a rights perspective.
He said growing the indigenous media platforms such as IPF should be everyone's priority, noting that IPF has a significant importance to Ijaw nation, Niger Delta and Nigeria at large.
However, the Otuaro's message was conveyed at such a critical time when the Niger Delta needed stronger voices that would sharpen advocacy for the rights and interests of the Ijaw people and the Niger Delta region. He urged the new leadership to build on the successes of their predecessors and to remain committed to the organization's goals.
The IPF has been at the forefront of promoting the narrative of the Ijaw people and the Niger Delta region, highlighting issues such as environmental degradation, economic marginalization, and human rights abuses.
The IPF President outlined his vision for the next two years, which included building a secretariat, establishing a printing press, and launching Ijaw indigenous radio and TV stations. He called on all Ijaw sons and daughters to support the organization in its mission to promote peace, unity, and development in the Niger Delta region.
