A frontrunner for the presidency of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) worldwide, Alabo Nengi James OON, has described the cancellation of the INC election as an uncomfortable situation that has generated mixed feelings among delegates and across the entire Ijaw Nation.
Addressing journalists in Yenagoa, Alabo Nengi James urged delegates who had travelled from various Ijaw-speaking states and communities to participate in the exercise not to lose faith in the process despite the development.
He noted that although the cancellation was disappointing, it should not discourage members of the congress from remaining committed to the unity and progress of the Ijaw Nation, expressing optimism that all issues surrounding the election would be resolved amicably.
Alabo Nengi James further encouraged stakeholders and delegates to remain calm and continue to support efforts aimed at sustaining peace and unity within the congress as he called on aggrieved parties to withdraw the court cases and give room for peaceful resolution.
He used the meduim to appreciate all the delegates, traditional rulers, Clan heads and others for their continued support and sacrifices for the growth of the Congress.
