Idjerehe Kingdom—The burial ceremony of Late Chief Mrs. Threepence Vero Soko took place at Jesse Town, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, leaving many in tears as the community bid farewell to a remarkable leader.
EgbemaVoice News publisher, Comrade Mingo Meshach Sayami Ogumaka, attended the solemn event to pay his respects to the Erela-ere of Egbema Kingdom. Chief Mrs. Soko, a prominent leader in both the Egbema and Idjerehe Kingdoms, passed away on January 8, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication to her people.
In his tribute, Comrade Mingo expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the immediate family and children of the deceased, describing her as an irreplaceable mother to her children and the Egbema Kingdom. As her remains were laid to rest, emotions ran high; children, relatives, and well-wishers were overwhelmed with grief.
Men of God offered prayers for her peaceful rest, while friends, colleagues, and sympathizers consoled the bereaved family, paying their last respects to a mother and leader who touched countless lives. Her passing is not only a loss to her family but also to the entire community she served with unwavering commitment.
Comrade Mingo Meshach Sayami Ogumaka commended the Egbema Traditional Council of Chiefs, led by High Chief Andrew Gorroh, for their significant presence and leadership during the burial ceremony of Late Chief Mrs. Threepence Vero Soko. He also appreciated the chairman of the occasion, Chief Powei Bainmine, and other distinguished Egbema Chiefs who came together to honor the late Erela-ere of Egbema Kingdom.
Furthermore, Mingo extended his gratitude to the Idjerehe Traditional Council of Chiefs and the large gathering of dignitaries, friends, and well-wishers who paid their last respects to the late chief. Their collective presence, he noted, was a testament to the immense respect and admiration Chief Mrs. Soko commanded during her lifetime.
