DESOPADEC DELIVERS ON HER HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT MANDATE ONCE AGAIN,

The Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), on 5th March 2025, fulfilled its commitment to human capital development by presenting a 200 HP outboard engine to the Executive members of the Coalition of Ijaw Oil and Gas Producing Kingdom Youths Council (CIOGPKYC). This gesture aligns with the M.O.R.E Agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

The donation was part of DESOPADEC's effort to address transportation challenges faced by the council, facilitating their movement across various kingdoms to maintain peace. This promise was made during a previous visit by Hon. Spencer Okubo Okpoye, the Member representing the Ijaw nation on the DESOPADEC Board.

During the handover, Hon. Okpoye encouraged the recipients to make good use of the engine, emphasizing their leadership role in fostering peace and development in their communities.

> "Youths are not just the leaders of tomorrow but also the leaders of today," he said. "Leadership is about guiding people to their destination. I urge you to sustain peace in your kingdoms because development can only thrive in a peaceful environment."

He assured them that a speedboat would be supplied soon to complement the engine and further enhance their efforts.

Receiving the engine, Comr. Roland Dade, President General of Ogulagha Kingdom Youths Council, expressed gratitude to DESOPADEC for its unwavering commitment to the development of the Ijaw oil and gas producing kingdoms.
