Reverse the unconstitutional suspension of Governor Fubara, Deputy and House of Assembly,
On behalf of the Ijaw Community Abuja/northern Nigeria, we call on the president Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately reverse the unconstitutional suspension of a democratically elected Governor, Deputy Governor and House of Assembly members of Rivers State.
Mr. President, your undemocratic and unconstitutional action poses great danger to not just the people of Rivers State who had enjoyed relative peace and security as evidence in the Flourishing of business activities, which is responsible for the increase in the internally generated revenue of the state from #12 billion under the previous administration to over #25 billion under the Fubara 's government and the implementation of all outstanding promotions from previous administrations among the many positive achievements of Fubara 's government.
Considering the above, it is clear that your actions were against the interest of the Rivers people.
We therefore call on all people of good conscience to speak against this injustice as no one knows which state will be the next victim.
To the Resilient and Proud People of the Ijaw Community Northern Nigeria.
In this challenging time, as we face the unjustifiable proclamation of a State of Emergency by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we urge every Ijaw son and daughter to remain calm, steadfast, and united.
We understand the deep frustration and concerns this decision has caused, but we must not allow provocation to lead us down a path that endangers our people and our homeland. The Ijaw struggle has always been one of resilience, wisdom, and strategic action. Now, more than ever, we must channel our strength into peaceful resistance, lawful engagement, and collective advocacy for justice.
We call on our youth and community leaders to stand firm but peaceful. Let us engage constructively with relevant stakeholders, ensuring that our voices are heard at all levels—locally, nationally, and internationally. The world is watching, and history will remember how we respond to this moment.
We reaffirm our commitment to the rights, dignity, and aspirations of the Ijaw people. Let us remain vigilant, but let us also remain peaceful as we pursue justice through every legitimate means available.
Long live the Ijaw Nation!
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
Signed,
Prince Somiari Ogolo
Chairman, Ijaw Community, Northern Nigeria.
