The vibrant and visionary Niger Delta Youth Leader, Comrade Mingo Meshach Sayami Ogumaka, has taken a moment to honor and celebrate an exceptional personality, Ambassador General LLB Silas Toruwei, on the occasion of his birthday anniversary, July 2nd.

In a heartfelt tribute that resonates with admiration and gratitude, Comrade Mingo described General Silas Toruwei as an extraordinary beacon of hope, strength, and inspiration for the Egbema Kingdom. He lauded the celebrant's unyielding commitment to the progress and unity of the kingdom, his selfless service to his people, and his invaluable role as a mentor and leader.

“General Silas Toruwei is not just my trusted brother by blood; he is a confidant, a steadfast friend, and an unwavering pillar of support who has stood by me through thick and thin. His kindness, encouragement, and faith in my struggles—both personal and academic—have been a light in my darkest moments,” Mingo expressed with profound emotion.

General Silas Toruwei is a man whose legacy echoes beyond the borders of Egbema Kingdom. As a former Niger Delta agitator, he was at the forefront of the fight for resource control and the survival of the Niger Delta people. His relentless advocacy and courage were instrumental in the approval of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and the establishment of key intervention agencies that have since transformed countless lives across the region.

Mingo also recounted General Silas's monumental contributions to the political advancement of Egbema Kingdom. He recalled the pivotal meeting in Sapele, led by General Silas, where a group of visionary leaders, including Mingo himself, formed the Concerned Egbema Indigenes organization. This group spearheaded advocacy efforts that culminated in the historic appointment of the first Ijaw Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, a breakthrough achievement for the kingdom.
“General Silas is a shining example of leadership. His voice, intelligence, and commitment to the Egbema cause have set him apart as an instrumental force in our kingdom's development. He is a rare gem—a leader who embodies the hopes and dreams of our people and works tirelessly to realize them,” Mingo said with reverence.

By EgbemaVoice, The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has dismissed a suit instituted by some Itsekiri stakeholders aimed at halting the proposed delineation of electoral wards and polling units in the Warri Federal Constituency of Delta State. The suit, marked FHC/ABJ/443/2024, was filed by Hon. Appearance Afejuku and Mr. Emmanuel Nunu, Secretary of Warri South Local Government Area, against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In his judgment delivered by Justice Omotosho ruled that the suit was a gross abuse of court process and lacked merit. Consequently, the court struck out the case in its entirety and awarded a total cost of ₦4 million against the plaintiffs, payable with interest at 10% per annum until the judgment sum is fully settled.
