Former DIG Parry Osayande Passes On at 80

Benin City, Edo State — The Edo State Command has announced with deep regret the passing of DIG Parry Osayande (Rtd.), a former Deputy Inspector-General of Police.

According to information made available by his son, Mr. Peter Osayande, on behalf of the family, DIG Osayande passed away on Saturday, 28th September 2025, at 6:23 a.m. at the NNPC Medical Centre, Benin City, after a protracted illness.

DIG Parry Osayande, a highly respected senior police officer, served the nation with distinction and left behind a legacy of dedication and discipline in the Nigeria Police Force.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.

INEC’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Victoria Eta-Messi, confirmed the development on Saturday to our correspondent, stating that the matter has been escalated to the Office of the National Security Adviser. “This matter was brought to the attention of the NSA.
