With a heart full of gratitude and deep appreciation to God Almighty, I wish to sincerely thank every individual and group who contributed in one way or the other to the success of the just concluded Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide National Convention and Election held on 11th July, 2026, which culminated in the emergence of Dr. Doubra Collins Okotete as the 10th President-Elect of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide.

This victory is not the achievement of one person but the product of collective sacrifice, unwavering commitment, and a shared vision for a united and progressive Ijaw Nation.

I wish to express my profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, for his fatherly leadership, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to peace. Your decisive role in fostering reconciliation and ensuring unity between the two factions of the Ijaw Youth Council before the election laid the foundation for a peaceful, credible, and widely accepted electoral process. History will remember your statesmanship and dedication to the unity of the Ijaw Nation.

To every individual who supported this project financially, materially, morally, and spiritually, I remain eternally grateful. Your sacrifices, encouragement, and confidence in our collective vision made this journey worthwhile. I do not take your generosity and commitment for granted.

My sincere appreciation also goes to the committed members of our team who stood firmly by my side throughout this journey. To those who travelled with me from zone to zone , chapter to chapter, clan to clan, community to community, attended meetings, mobilized support, and worked tirelessly behind the scenes, your dedication, resilience, and loyalty were invaluable. You are the true backbone of this success.

To the delegates who believed in my vision and entrusted me with your votes, I owe you a debt of gratitude. Your confidence in me is deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten. You are indeed the Real MVPs, and I remain humbled by your unwavering support.

I equally extend my heartfelt appreciation to the respected elders, leaders, and critical stakeholders across the Ijaw Nation who played different but significant roles in making this process a success. Whether through wise counsel, mediation, encouragement, advocacy, or other invaluable contributions, your efforts have strengthened our collective aspiration for a united and progressive Ijaw Youth Council.

May this new administration usher in greater peace, unity, purposeful leadership, and sustainable development for all Ijaw youths.

It is indeed a victory for a United Ijaw Nation.
