Niger Delta youth leader and Coordinator of Focus Egbema Group, Comrade Mingo Friday Meshach Sayami Ogumaka, popularly known as KingdomVoice, has commended the Niger Delta regional leader, High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias GOC Tompolo, for his remarkable intervention in promoting peace, reconciliation, and unity in Egbema Kingdom.
Comrade Mingo described Tompolo as a God-sent leader whose commitment, sacrifice, and genuine concern for the progress of Egbema Kingdom have contributed significantly to the ongoing reconciliation among the kingdom's leadership, traditional institutions, and stakeholders.
In a statement, the Egbema youth leader praised Tompolo for investing his time, energy, and resources in bringing aggrieved groups together to resolve their differences and restore unity in the kingdom.
According to him, Tompolo's intervention demonstrates his unwavering commitment to the collective interest of Egbema people and the development of the Niger Delta region.
He noted that Egbema Kingdom had experienced prolonged leadership disagreements and legal disputes following the passing of its immediate traditional ruler. These disagreements reportedly affected relationships among various interest groups, the Traditional Council of Chiefs, and the Regency Council.
Mingo observed that the situation required the intervention of a respected regional leader with the courage, influence, and commitment to bring the parties to the negotiating table in the interest of peace and progress.
He commended Tompolo for taking the initiative to facilitate reconciliation among the various stakeholders, culminating in a meeting in Warri where the leadership gathered under the auspices of the Egbema Leaders of Thought (ELOT).
The meeting provided an opportunity for the stakeholders to address their differences, embrace dialogue, and commit themselves to working together for the overall interest of Egbema Kingdom.
According to Mingo, the decision by the stakeholders to reconcile and work together represents a significant step towards rebuilding trust, strengthening traditional institutions, and creating a peaceful environment for sustainable development.
He further acknowledged the role of Hon. High Chief Powei Bainmine, who has overseen the affairs of the kingdom during the period of transition, alongside traditional chiefs, youth leaders, and other stakeholders who contributed to the reconciliation process.
The Focus Egbema Group Coordinator stressed that the unity of Egbema Kingdom must transcend individual interests, political affiliations, and personal grievances, insisting that the collective future of the people should remain paramount.
Mingo Describing Tompolo's intervention as a demonstration of exceptional leadership, Comrade Mingo said the Niger Delta regional leader had once again shown that genuine leadership requires sacrifice, courage, and a willingness to resolve conflicts for the common good.
He maintained that Tompolo's longstanding commitment to the welfare and development of Egbema Kingdom, dating back to the early days of his struggle in the Niger Delta, deserves recognition and appreciation.
Mingo urged the people of Egbema to embrace the spirit of reconciliation, put the past behind them, and support the emerging unity among the kingdom's leadership.
He also called on all parties to honour their commitments, withdraw from unnecessary confrontations, and pursue lasting solutions to outstanding disagreements through dialogue, mutual respect, and established traditional and legal processes.
The youth leader emphasized that the reconciliation initiative should mark the beginning of a new chapter in Egbema Kingdom, where peace, unity, respect for traditional institutions, and collective development take precedence over division.
He urged the traditional leadership, Egbema Leaders of Thought, youth organisations, community leaders, and other stakeholders to sustain the peace achieved and work collectively towards addressing the kingdom's developmental challenges.
Mingo concluded by expressing profound appreciation to High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, GOC aka Tompolo, for his intervention, describing the reconciliation effort as a timely and historic step towards restoring harmony and strengthening the unity of Egbema Kingdom.
He reaffirmed that a united Egbema Kingdom will be better positioned to protect its heritage, advance its interests, attract development, and secure a brighter future for present and coming generations.
