2023: Agege, Delta APC Bereft Of Ideas - Okowa's EAC....Says Thugs And Mace Runners Cannot Be Trusted With State Affairs.

By EgbemaVoice,

Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has again been described as a man with weak morals and bereft of leadership qualities and transformational ideas.

The assertion was contained in a statement on Sunday 19th June, by the Executive Assistant to Delta State Governor on Communications, Olorogun Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, in swift reaction to a statement by Agege's campaign media in respect of the choice of Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Oghenesivbe noted that since Senator Ovie Agege emerged as Delta APC candidate for the 2023 election, he has been very cold, politically unproductive and unable to articulate his electioneering manifesto, rather the outgoing senator has been roaming about interfering in the internal affairs of PDP, which connotes he has nothing tangible to offer the good people of Delta State, as APC Governorship candidate.

Okowa's Eac and Chairman, Coalition for Media Politics and Governance, CMPG, further observed that the low intellectual acumen of Senator Agege coupled with his unscrupulous lifestyle and unfulfilled electioneering promises led to the mass resignation of his media aides and senior legislative assistants, adding that no right thinking Deltan would associate himself or herself with a political rascal and alleged mace runner.

Oghenesivbe asserted that though the Southern governors agreed on a Southern Presidential candidate for  2023 election, such agreement was subject to decisions of their respective political parties, pointing out that PDP decided to open the presidential race for her members without zoning, so as to field the best and most popular candidate to win the 2023 presidential election.

"Governor Okowa is a politician and cannot operate outside the rules of the game set out by his party, PDP. He is a loyal party man and will remain loyal throughout his political career because party is supreme.

"While the APC decided to technically zone Presidency to Southern Nigeria, PDP preferred open contest in the spirit of national unity, sincerity of purpose and to enable the best and most popular candidate emerge to win election for the party.

"At the end of the internal race, our amiable presidential candidate and former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar emerged and his victory was applauded nationwide.

"it's therefore mischievous and laughable for Senator Agege and his epileptic campaign organisation or anybody for that matter to refer to Okowa as a betrayal. It doesn't add up and obviously uncalled for.

"Governor Okowa's emergence as the Vice Presidential candidate of PDP, received widespread ovation and acceptance due largely to his visionary leadership, positive and result oriented political craftsmanship at state and national levels, verified team spirit and legislative competence, patriotism, good governance strides and his love for our country - Nigeria, et al.

"Every political party adopted various strategies in the ongoing electioneering process and members of these parties played along, including members of PDP, and Governor Okowa cannot afford to be a lone ranger as a loyal party man and an experienced grassroot politician.

"Governor Okowa, the Vice President in-waiting did what was right and best for this country and our great party, PDP.  He shall continue to align himself with whatever plans and strategies that will make Nigeria great again.

"Agege and his intellectually lazy media aides and weak campaign structure should wake up from their deep slumber and face political realities, rather than lazy about.

"Mischievous thugs and sagacious mace runners cannot be trusted with Delta State affairs," Oghenesivbe added.
