Amaechi, Onu, Akpabio and others not returning as Buhari sends new ministerial list to senate,

President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the Senate seeking the confirmation of seven ministerial nominees. Rotimi Amaechi, Ogbonnaya Onu, Godswill Akpabio and Emeka Nwajiuba who all resigned to pursue presidential bids will not be returning to President Buhari's cabinet as confirmed in the new list. 

 The nominees are: Henry Ikechukwu – Abia State, Umana Okon Umana – Akwa-Ibom State; Ekuma Joseph – Ebonyi State; Goodluck Nana Obia – Imo State; Umar Ibrahim Yakub – Kano State; Ademola Adewole Adegorioye – Ondo State; Odo Udi – Rivers State. The Senate has, however, not fixed a date yet for the screening exercise.

IPF fixes February for national elections, appoints Abai Electoral Chairman,

By EgbemaVoice, The Ijaw Publishers' Forum (IPF) has officially kicked off preparations for its upcoming national leadership election, scheduling it for February and appointing a new Electoral Committee led by Mr. Francis Abai of PENGlobal as Chairman. The committee also includes Mr. Cletus Opukeme of Daily Watch as Secretary and Mr. Joseph Kanjo of Info Daily as a member. Meanwhile, a Constitution Review Committee was also constituted, comprising Mr. Tare Magbei of Daily Report Nigeria as chairman, Mr. Ezekiel Kagbala of Focal Point as secretary and Mr. Francis Abai as a member.  These moves were seen as key to ensuring a smooth transition and strengthening the Forum's internal processes. BREAKING: The High Court of Delta State has issued an ex-parte injunction stopping and barring the Inspector General of Police and the Nigeria Police Force from resuming the enforcement of the tinted glass permit policy nationwide. The order was issued on Wednesday, 17th December, 2025 by Hon. Justice Joe Egwu. The High Court also barred the police from harassing, arresting, detaining or extorting citizens and motorists on account of the said policy. The order will subsist pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit. This latest injunction follows a suit filed in Delta State by the Applicant, a citizen by name Mr. Israel Joe. The Applicant was represented in court by a team of lawyers led by Kunle Edun, SAN. By this order, the announcement made by the Nigeria Police on its decision to resume the tinted glass permit enforcement on 2nd January, 2026 has been halted by the Court.
