The Ward to Ward campaigns to further deepen grassroots connections with the people and eligible votes across Delta Central Senatorial District by the  governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor, recorded massive turnout of party faithfuls and supporters in Ward 10, 7, 9, 8 and 4, on Thursday 24th November in Okpe Local Government Area.

Overwhelmed by the huge crowd and thunderous ovation with sound of trumpets, drum beats and joyful noise for a foreseeable landslide victory for Oborevwori-Onyeme ticket and all candidates of PDP, Delta PDP Chairman, Olorogun Barr Kingsley Esiso, took to the dance floor with party candidates to showcase dance steps.

Esiso while introducing the candidates of PDP to the party faithfuls and supporters, noted that of a truth, the good people of Okpe Kingdom in Urhobo nation are happy and genuinely appreciated the 2023 governorship slot for Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Federal Constituency of Delta Central Senatorial District, saying that it was deliberately orchestrated by the party for  sustained equity, justice, unity and good conscience in balancing political power in the state.

He noted that since the creation of Delta State, the two other federal constituencies produced governors via Olorogun Felix Ibru of blessed memory, for the Ughelli North, South and Udu Federal Constituency and Chief James Onanefe Ibori for Ethiope Federal Constituency, pointing out that Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor will serve the slot of Okpe,Sapele and Uvwie Federal Constituency as governor from May 29, 2023 to May 29, 2031, by the grace of God.

Esiso appealed to all eligible voters who registered in the last voters registration exercise but are yet to collect their PCVs to do so immediately, saying that with their PVCs they will be able to rescue Nigeria from the failed national government of the All Progressives Congress, APC, by voting 5/5 for all candidates of PDP in the state and in Nigeria.

"Okpe is a great Kingdom and I am impressed because of the huge turnout in all the Ward visited so far. It shows in your actions and inactions that Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Federal Constituency of Urhobo nation in Delta Central Senatorial District are indeed grateful for the governorship slot, and it also revealed that your son, the incoming governor of Delta State, Elder Oborevwori, is loved by all Okoe people, home and abroad.

"Of a truth, it is the turn of OSU federal Constituency to produce the governor for the purpose of our collective unity, peace, equity, justice and good conscience.

"It is your duty, my duty and our collective responsibility to mobilize all eligible voters to come out on election day to vote Atiku-Okowa for President, Sheriff-Onyeme for Governor, Chief Ighoyota Amori for Senate, Hon Barr Evelyn Oboro for House of Representatives and Okakuro James Augoye for House of Assembly," Esiso said.

Incoming governor of Delta State and illustrious son of Okpe Kingdom, Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor while addressing the Mammoth crowd at various Ward visited on Thursday in Okpe LGA, said the state governor and PDP Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, must be commended again and again for his visionary leadership and for ensuring that the governorship slot for 2023 was properly and conscientiously situated in OSU federal Constituency of Delta Central Senatorial District.

He assured the people that as a detribilized individual and a Pan Deltan incoming governor who knows and feels the pains of the people, he would build on the successes and the enviable achievements of Okowa administration by advancing Delta through meaningful development, opportunity for all, realistic reforms and enhanced peace and security by operating a responsive and responsible government anchored on sustainable economic growth, infrastructure and human capital development, as well as all equitable distribution of dividends of democracy and social harmony.

"I am your Okpe son, a Pan Deltan politician with excessive local content. I know and feel the pains of the people and I promise to do my best to ensure that the dividends of democracy gets to all Deltans in the three senstorial districts.

"Our leader, our amiable governor and incoming Vice-president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, is a good man and a consummate leader by all standards. He has done so much for Okpe Local Government and the Kingdom in general; built schools, roads and gave us several appointments including Commissioner for Works and Education, et al.

"I urge us in Okpe and OSU federal Constituency to show deep appreciation for all that PDP government has done for us and the ones that shall be done in the next dispensation by giving PDP and her candidates bloc vote on a 5/5 basis; Atiku-Okowa for President, Sheriff-Onyeme for Governor, Chief Ighoyota Amori for Senate, Hon Barr Evelyn Oboro for House of Assembly and Okakuro James Augoye for House of Assembly," Oborevwori said

Former APC Chieftain now PDP stalwart, and former military Governor of Abia State, AVM Frank Ajobena, CON (Rt), Prof Sam Oyovbaire and Prof Hope Eghagha spoke on behalf of Okpe people, home and abroad.

AVM Ajobena, Prof Oyovbaire and Prof Eghagha endorsed all candidates of PDP for the 2023 general elections and urged all Okpe people and Delta eligible voters to vote; Atiku-Okowa for President, Sheriff-Onyeme for Governor, Chief Ighoyota Amori for Senate, Hon Barr Evelyn Oboro for House of Representatives and Okakuro James Augoye for House of Assembly.

The highlight of the occasion was the total reconcilation of Hon Napoleon Gbinije and Hon Barr Evelyn Oboro over 2023 OSU federal Constituency ticket.

Hon Gbinije assured that he would approach the Court to quash his lawsuit against Oboro and also to collapse his political structure to project her candidacy and victory in 2023.

The reconcilation efforts between Gbinigie and Oboro was initiated and sealed by the incoming excessive local content governor of Delta State, a leader with resounding street credibility, Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis, JP, the Ukodo of Okpe Kingdom and  Deputy Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria.

He pointed to persistent leadership misunderstandings and the lingering effects of colonial-era divide-and-rule tactics. Comrade Mingo described Egbema as the most populous and one of the oldest Ijaw kingdoms in southern Nigeria—yet it has suffered decades of underdevelopment, neglect, deprivation, marginalization, and oppression by both the Edo and Delta state governments. He traced this back to tribal sentiments and biases harbored by successive state administrations. By EgbemaVoice, Owoseni condemned the hypocrisy of political leaders who criticise the physical appearance of officers without addressing the root causes. A former Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has decried the dire state of funding and welfare in the Nigeria Police Force. He lamented that police divisions operate on as little as N30,000 monthly while officers endure deplorable living conditions, including sleeping inside exhibit vehicles at police stations. In an interview with News Central TV’s Breakfast Central programme, Owoseni, who was visibly angry, criticised what he described as the appalling neglect of police welfare by the Nigerian leaders who, despite the realities, dare to “shamelessly” demean officers. “You have a Divisional Police Officer like in Ikeja Police Division that has an area of responsibility so large, and what you use to fund that police division is N30,000, to do what?” Owoseni asked. He painted a grim picture of the daily stru...
