Renowned Niger Delta leader and former Chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chief Edwin Clark, has passed away at the age of 97.

His family announced his demise in a statement signed by Prof. C.C. Clark and Mr. Penawei Clark, confirming that the elder statesman died on February 17, 2025. They expressed gratitude for the public's prayers and support, adding that further details would be communicated in due course.

Chief Edwin Clark was a distinguished Ijaw national leader, a former Federal Commissioner for Information, and a relentless advocate for the rights and development of the Niger Delta region. Throughout his life, he championed the cause of his people and left an indelible mark on Nigeria's political landscape.

His passing marks the end of an era, leaving behind a legacy of leadership and unwavering dedication to justice and equity for the Niger Delta.
