Warri Delineation Reports: Egbema Focus Group Speaks, Commends Leadership, Sues for Calm,

By Egbemavoice, The Egbema Focus Group has expressed deep satisfaction with the outcome of the recent Warri electoral ward delineation exercise, praising the courageous efforts of Ijaw and Urhobo leaders who championed the call for justice and equity. The group also urged all ethnic nationalities in the Warri axis to remain calm and united as the region moves forward in peace and development. The fresh delineation exercise, conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), was ordered by the Supreme Court after decades of agitation by the Ijaw and Urhobo communities. These ethnic groups have long decried the systemic underrepresentation they faced in local governance structures despite being indigenous stakeholders in the Warri North, Warri South, and Warri South-West Local Government Areas of Delta South Senatorial District. According to Comrade Mingo Meshach Sayami, the National Coordinator of the Egbema Focus Group, the injustice against the Egbema peopl...

Breaking News! INEC Validates Ijaw Dominance in Ward Delineation Across Warri Federal Constituency.

By EgbemaVoice, The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has affirmed the Ijaws of Egbema and Gbaramatu kingdoms as the most populous ethnic groups within Warri North and Warri South-West Local Government Areas (LGAs), following a review of ward delineation in the Warri Federal Constituency. The exercise followed a protracted legal process instituted by the Ijaws over pseudo and non-existent wards manipulated by the Itsekiris to gain undue political advantage in the three Warri LGAs. The Supreme Court verdict compelled INEC to undertake a fresh ward delineation exercise in the Warri Federal Constituency to reflect reality on the ground. In compliance with the court ruling, INEC conducted a fresh ward delineation exercise that validates Ijaw population dominance in the LGAs.  This result has serious implications for who becomes the next LGA chairman, especially in Warri North, where the Itsekiri had manipulated all appointive and elective positions to the det...

The demonstrators, comprising men, women, and youths, accused INEC of championing an ethnic agenda aimed at sidelining the Itsekiri people. They also voiced strong opposition to any perceived misuse of the Federal Governmentโ€™s pipeline surveillance contract awarded to High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo. โ€œWe will not allow Tompolo to use his surveillance contract to suppress or threaten our community,โ€ one of the protesters warned. EGBEMA FOCUS GROUP CONDEMNS ATTACK ON IJAW YOUTH ABEKI IN WARRI By Egbemavoice, The Egbema Focus Group (EFG) strongly condemns the recent brutal attack on Mr. Abeki, a young Ijaw man and tricycle rider, as well as the gun assault on the Olabrakeopre Ijaw Warri Urban Community. These incidents, reportedly carried out by allegedly irate Itsekiri youths along Odion Road in Warri, Delta State, represent a reprehensible act of violence that threatens not only the safety and dignity of the victims but also the peace and unity of our region. According to eyewitness accounts, Mr. Abeki was assaulted without provocation in what appears to be a targeted act against members of the Ijaw and Urhobo ethnic groups. We are deeply concerned by the growing reports of intimidation and violence targeting Ijaw people in Warriโ€”particularly the youthโ€”who have long contributed to the growth and stability of the Niger Delta. The EFG calls on security agencies to immediately launch a thorough invest...

By EgbemaVoice, Prominent traditional chiefs, youth leaders, and stakeholders of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom in Warri have openly disassociated themselves from a press conference held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, describing it as unauthorized and lacking the blessing of the kingdomโ€™s traditional institution. The controversial briefing followed the ward delineation recommended for Warri Federal Constituency by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This peaceful gathering reflects the unified voice of the Ijaw people, acknowledging INECโ€™s commendable role as a fair and impartial institution committed to upholding the rule of law.
