Comrade Mrs. Ebunajitei Joy Ebiyekese Osagiede, the immediate past Women's Leader of the Ajakurama National Executive, has joined countless admirers in celebrating GOC High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo (JP), on the occasion of his birthday anniversary, marked on April 12.
In a heartfelt tribute, Mrs. Ebiyekese, who is also the incoming Women's Leader of the Egbema Youth Council, known as the Egbema Youth Progressive Foundation, (EGYPF), described Tompolo as not just a leader but a true living hero of our time. She hailed him as a legendary figure whose unparalleled sacrifices have significantly contributed to the survival, unity, and progress of the Niger Delta region and the Ijaw Nation.
According to Mrs. Ebiyekese, Tompolo embodies the values of courage, resilience, and selflessness. She acknowledged his relentless efforts in advocating for the rights of the oppressed, protecting the resources of the Niger Delta, and ensuring that the voices of the people resonate across the nation. She emphasized that his sacrifices transcend personal gains, as he has continually prioritized the collective good of the people over his own interests.
Highlighting his legacy, Mrs. Ebiyekese stated that Tompolo’s unwavering commitment to justice and development has transformed him into a beacon of hope, not only for the people of the Niger Delta but also for generations to come. His leadership has fostered peace, stability, and empowerment in communities that were once plagued by neglect and hardship.
As a symbol of unity and progress, Tompolo’s contributions, she noted, have set a standard for leadership grounded in service, humility, and integrity. His work with initiatives such as Tantita Security Services and his active role in securing the economic and environmental integrity of the region serve as a testament to his dedication to the cause of the Niger Delta and the Ijaw Nation.
Mrs. Ebiyekese further expressed her gratitude for Tompolo’s efforts in empowering women, youths, and marginalized groups within the Niger Delta, noting that his leadership has inspired a new generation of advocates and change-makers who are committed to continuing his mission of regional development and peacebuilding.
As the Niger Delta and the Ijaw Nation celebrate this iconic figure, Mrs. Ebiyekese called on all stakeholders, leaders, and well-meaning individuals to emulate Tompolo’s exemplary life of service and sacrifice. She prayed for his continued strength, wisdom, and good health, urging him to keep up the good fight for the betterment of the people and the region.
“High Chief Government Ekpemupolo is more than a leader; he is a movement, a vision, and a source of hope for the entire Niger Delta,” Mrs. Ebiyekese concluded.
