ORIGINAL SURVEY PLAN OF WARRI TOWSHIP ( NEW WARRI) IN 1908.
Facts.
1) Government at all time have the records, and they also know the Truth. This is the original Survey plan of "New Warri" in 1908. This Survey Plan is the clearest in the Government archives. It was prepared by the Government Surveyor named Forsyth. And domiciled in the Federal Ministry of lands and Survey.
2) As you can see the "New Warri" in the Survey map was limited to a mass of Land of 360 acres of Land. So if this land is New Warri, then there must be an "Old WARRI". So where is the place called OLD WARRI??
3) The original settlement where this new Warri Township was created from was called Ogbe ijoh,...an original Ijaw settlement. They were evicted by one British Colonial officer Henry P. James in 1907.
4) Following their forceful evictions, they were angered, and later traced Henry P. James to Agadabiri village near Forcados and assassinated him
5) Following this Assassination, many of the Ogbe ijoh elders were declared Wanted. They were to be arrested, tried and hanged.
6) Following this declaration many of them fled, into hiding never to be seen again.
7). Because they were into hiding, Chief Dore Numa, who acted as the agent to lease the lands started to pocket the money for the leases.
8) Seeing many itsekiris elitist of the time particularly of the Olu family wanted to know who collected the money for the leases and the Reason.
9) Dore Numa quickly formulated a reason that the lands were actually "Olu lands" meanwhile there was no Olu then, the itsekiri kingdom being under an interregnum.
10) Because of this the Olu descendants led by Denedo tool Dore Numa to court and they lost the case down to the Supreme Court.
11) The descendants of the Ogbe Ijoh elders in 1956, came to liti9 the land 50 years later, because all those declared wanted were now dead, but their descendants were alive.
Tomorrow I will give you the details of the Court case of 1956
But before then where do you think was Old WARRI, if the Survey map below is for New Warri??
