The immediate past Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, Hon. Capt. Smart Yomi Asekutu, has joined family, friends, political stakeholders, and the entire Delta State in celebrating the birthday anniversary of the immediate past Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, on the 8th of July.
In a warm and heartfelt congratulatory message, Capt. Asekutu described Senator Okowa as a remarkable leader, an astute political strategist, and a man whose name is etched in the political history of Delta State and Nigeria at large.
"Dr. Okowa is more than a leader; he is a political calculator and space designer, a vocal icon of Delta State’s political architecture, and a hero of our time. His leadership qualities are rooted in fairness, equity, vision, and commitment to inclusive governance," Asekutu stated.
He further lauded the former Governor for his outstanding contributions to the growth and stability of Delta State, especially during his tenure as Governor from 2015 to 2023. According to Capt. Asekutu, Okowa’s administration brought visible transformation, peace, and progress to all parts of the state, including minority and historically marginalized communities.
Speaking passionately, Capt. Asekutu noted: "Senator Okowa's administration broke political barriers and rewrote history for the people of Egbema Kingdom. Through his sense of fairness and justice, he made it possible for an Ijaw son to be elected as Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area for the very first time. His administration also ensured the inclusion of Ijaw ethnic nationalities in the board of DESOPADEC, a landmark achievement that has restored hope and fostered a sense of belonging among the Ijaw people."
"For us in Egbema Kingdom, Senator Okowa is not just a former Governor; he is a builder of bridges, a unifier, and a statesman whose legacy will never be forgotten. His decisions have redefined our political presence in Delta State, and for that, he remains a celebrated figure in our hearts."
He concluded by praying for God's continued blessings upon the life of Dr. Okowa, "On behalf of the people of Egbema Kingdom in Warri North Local Government Area and my beloved family, I extend our deepest congratulations and best wishes to the Ekuweme of Africa. May the Almighty God continue to strengthen you, protect you, and bless you abundantly as you remain committed to serving humanity and uplifting the Ijaw Nation, Delta State, and Nigeria at large. Happy glorious birthday, Your Excellency!"
