By EgbemaVoice,
The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), under the visionary leadership of its Chairman, Ambassador Godknows Boladei Igali, has renewed calls for urgent action to address the healthcare challenges facing Coastal Communities in the Niger Delta.
Speaking on PANDEF’s ongoing advocacy, Ambassador Igali emphasized that health is a fundamental pillar of development, noting that many riverine and hard-to-reach areas in the region suffer from inadequate infrastructure, shortage of medical personnel, and poor access to essential medicines. “No Community should be left behind when it comes to healthcare. Coastal residents deserve the same level of access and quality care as anyone else, “he stated.
PANDEF’s strategy focuses on engaging government at all levels, forging partnerships with NGOs, donor agencies, and corporate bodies, and promoting preventive healthcare programs such as vaccination drives, maternal and child health services, and regular medical outreach.
The Forum has also advocated for the deployment of mobile clinics and improvement of waterway transportation for medical emergencies
